Updated: Dec 22, 2019
In this post DJ Ajay Manaktala from Los Angeles will explain some of the best Indian (or South Asian) wedding entrance songs for a couple to enter their reception on for 2020.
How you enter your wedding reception at Indian or South Asian weddings is all about glitz and glam. This is a culmination of so much in you and your family's lives and everybody will be screaming and cheering you on!
Make sure you enjoy the moment and pick the right tune that sets the tone for the night.
VIDEOS FOR EACH SONG ARE BELOW ALONG WITH ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS SO MAKE SURE YOU PICK SOMETHING ORIGINAL AND NOT GENERIC!
How You Chose a Grand Entrance Song
How do you chose a grand entrance song for a South Asian wedding?
High energy and good lyrics are the way to go.
Save the slow stuff for your first dances.
You want to hype up the room who maybe just sat through a ceremony and show everybody how excited you are that they made it there!
Smile and dance your way to a high energy track!
Best Indian Wedding Reception Entrance Songs for Couple's Grand Entrance
1. That’s What I Like - Bruno Mars
This is a great English song to set the tone and good for getting kids, parents and your friends all clapping along!
Believe it or not, Aunties love this song for some reason.
2. Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai - Sultan
Without any effort she stole my heart...
The movie Sultan with Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma was a hit and part of that success was this track!
3. Aankh Marey - Simmba
That girl is giving me the eye!
One of the most popular Bollywood songs of 2018 is also a remake of an older song. But wow, a billion views! This is a great dance track you can play for your grand entrance as a couple and then again later during the dancing! Also very popular at Sangeets!
4. Unforgettable - French Montana
A great hip hop song that doesn't have any flash or cleavage, just great beats and a great way to enter to celebrate your new love! And a billion views also, wow!
5. Mi Gente - J Balvin
For the Indian weddings in California, Texas, New York and elsewhere that like a little latin flavor, this song is a great pop culture option that is very popular with folks under 50!
6. High Heels Te Nachche - Ki & Ka
Ohhh that girl in her high heels...
A great masala track with a killer beat, time to get the party started a little early maybe?
7. Danza Kuduro - Don Omar
A great reggaeton or latin type of salsa track to enter your wedding on. A billion views as well!
8. Niggas In Paris - Jay Z - Kanye
For the hard core hip hop and Yeezy fans!
9. Shape of You - Ed Sheeran
Some say it's played out, I say play it again. Or try playing this biryani parody which also went viral and features my brother!
10. All The Way Up - Fat Joe
More hip hop, more swag. Definitley a crowd pumper!
11. Can’t Stop The Feeling - Justin Timberlake
A happy go lucky song with Justin Timberlake...not his most successful song but popular with kids and maybe a good choice for your crowd too? Very family friendly.
12. 24K Magic - Bruno Mars
Almost any Bruno Mars song is ideal for wedding entrances and this was one of his most successful. He knows how to pick the winners and if how can you not tap your toe to this when the bride and groom enter!
Screw that, stand up and cheer!
13. Shut Up And Dance - Walk The Moon
Very popular amongst the alternative and rock crowd. My buddy Sundeep used this for his entrance and I instantly Shazam'd it!
14. This Is What You Came For - Calvin Harris/Rihanna
A high energy dance or electro-pop track with two superstars. Just make sure you enter on the drop, not the build up. Also that youuuuuuuuuu part takes way too long!
You ew ew ew ooooooo.....
15. Light It Up - Major Lazer
Love Major Lazer and love this track. Not for everyone especially at South Asian weddings so give it a listen first to see if it's right for you.
16. Adventure Of A Lifetime - Coldplay
My son loves this song. I love this song. You'll love this song. And when (if) you have kids, watch how happy this video makes them during breakfast!
17. This Girl - Kungs vs. Cookin'
An ambient sort of retro/chill song that might be the sundowner type of mood you're going for?
18. My House - Flo Rida
Time to raise the roof and bring the house down. Very popular entrance song for Indian couples both in India and Abroad. Flo Rida was even flown to a wealthy Indian person's wedding in Thailand last year just to sing this!
Imagine!
19. 2 Of Americas Most Wanted - Tupac & Snoop
For the 90s hip hop fans. Very explicit however so not an ideal choice.
20. Happy - Pharrell
Hip hop, family friendly, catchy, upbeat and clean. Checks all the boxes, as long as you're not sick of it or don't find it cliche, I always love hearing it
21. Bring Em Out - TI
Love the lyrics "Bring em out" cause that's exactly what I'm doing as the DJ when I announce you for the first time as husband and wife...make some noise for!!!!! (you two)
22. Taki Taki - Dj Snake
DJ Snake had a great year and is popular for wedding songs also...

So what's your favorite song to enter your reception on?
We see Sangeet events usually having big Hindi or Punjabi entrance songs but we see less Hindi during the reception, especially for Big fat Indian weddings in major cities of the USA, UK, India and Canada/Australia.
The list above is what we see clients asking us to play as of December 2019 at our shaadi events in California and Texas and we hope you find it useful at your event!
